Dr (Prof.) V.P. Gupta is an eminent educationist having more than 35 years experience in the Technical Education. He has served as Dean, Faculty of Engineering (MBM Engineering College) Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur during 2001-2004. Later on, he served as a Director, Academic Planning and Research at College of Engineering & Technology, Jalgaon (Maharastra). He took over as a Principal of Jannayak Choudhary Devilal, College of Engineering & Technology, Sirsa (Haryana) in July 2006 and is approved Principal of Kurkshetra University. He joined as Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology Jodhpur National University in December, 2008.

He obtained his BE Degree from Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur (erstwhile Jodhpur University) in 1966. He post-graduated in 1968 in Hydraulics and Ph.d. degree in 1980 from University of Roorkie (UP).

He has published a large number of Technical papers in National and Inter-national Journals. He has organized a number of National Seminars/Conferences. He has guided more than 30 M.Tech thesis and number of Ph.d. thesis. He has contributed sufficiently and provided consultancy to Government Organizations including irrigation Department, Public Health Department of the Government of Rajasthan, etc.
